Spring Is Love

måndag 30 april 2012

Hello, and welcome back to my blog!
Today I am extra happy because I'm this weeks Guest Designer over at The Shabby Tea Room.
I earned this by winning in the Tea Room during the week # 100 challenge.
This weeks new challenge for us, is to create a card or project inspired by the Colors in this Photo, and include Polka Dots and a Heart.

I created this card, I hope you will join in the current challenge too.

First I made the heart by using one Bird Notes stamp from Crafty Secrets, then I cut it with Spellbinders Classic Hearts and Scalloped Hearts. I sponged it with Distress Ink. and attached a ribbon round the edges.

I used an image from SagenVintageDesign and stamped the sentiment on it. The edges was painted with white Gesso.

I also used  Melissa Frances, 3ndy papir and Panduro papers. This teacup and the sentiments are Eline´s Winter Huis stamps from Marianne design.

And lastly, I added flowers, Lace, Ribbon, Pearls, a Brad, Cut out and some die cuts that I made using Spellbinders Floral Fluorishes.

That´s it for my The Shabby Tea Room piece this week. I hope you will stop by the TSTR blog and see the wonderful projects the Design Team have to show you!
Hugs, Birgit

Upcycled Box

fredag 27 april 2012

Hi everyone, glad to have you here again!
I thought the challenge at Frilly and Funkie sounded funny and thought about what I could do.
Then I got eyes on the old box containing notepaper that I found in a wardrobe a while ago and I for nostalgic reasons, could not bring myself to throw. I got it from my parents sometime in the 1970s.

Now I was finally ready to make something new from the old box, which actually yellowed a little with age. And here it is, back in a little different look.

I made the background paper myself by using the three alcohol inks i have:) and then stamped with two different stamps in Coffee and Black Archival ink.
Sweet ladies were cut out from a Pion Design paper.

The swirl is first white heat embossed, the layered with clear crackle paint and some distress ink, then again heat embossed this time with clear embossing pouder.

This is a genuine vintage lace/ribbon I once found at e-bay.
And this metall charm from ROX Stamps is layered over Memory Box Seville Buckle die cut.

I wanted to make use of the nice letter paper, too,
so I did a little tag with the leaves on.

Have a fabulous day!
Hugs, Birgit

Green and Pink

söndag 22 april 2012

Hi there!
Sunday, and I´m back with a new card.
I chose a piece of old dark paper and painted over with Gesso. Then I went loose with stamps from Inkadinkado and Pinkpaislee.

I cut down the image a bit and sewed it on paper from Graphic 45, Butterfly Kisses and ScrapHouse of Scandinavia, Romanza.

I then embellished my card with flowers and one button from Prima Marketing, lace, pearl ribbon, pins and twine from my stash.

For the sentiment I used one Inkido stamp. Finaly I added these swirls that looks like water drops, I really like them. Unfortunately I do not remember from where I once bought them.

That´s it I think, not so much more to say about it.
As always thanks so much for stopping by!

Lovely Pink Roses

fredag 20 april 2012

Hello, and welcome everyone!
I have a card to share with you today.
After I pondered a while, I decided to make a card with three sides.

The card stock that I had, I thought it was way too blue to match the Pink Roses on the paper I wanted to use. So first I painted it with a thin layer of Gesso.

These beautiful hearts are from the Inkido Forever Collection no 5, 6x6 sheet.

Now you have got a dose of romance here today. I hope you will take it with you into the weekend and spread some love around you.
Thanks for your visit today, until next time...
Hugs, Birgit

Cool Cat

onsdag 18 april 2012

Hello evyone! It is Wednesday already, days just fly away.
Today I caught the coolest kid in town! I think he is wonderful.
He may come and save my day every day. (Or yours)
I've tried not to decorate so much, he speaks for himself.

This is a digi stamp from Pink Cat Studio and I colored him with Copics and some Platinum Stickles on the tie.
For the background I used Core´dinations paper that I first embossed with Spellbinders Diamonds & Stars, then sanded and tore the edges.

The papers are from Pion design, and the Create with TLC sentiment were cut and embossed with Spellbinders Fancy Tags Three, then sponged with Forest Moss Distress Ink.
I think the clock stamp is from the Vild Stamps.

Some flowers, seam binding and twine finished of my card.

Just Because

torsdag 12 april 2012

Hi everyone, and welcome back to my blog!
I made this spring card with sweet Tilda. I do not own so many Magnolia stamps, but this I could not resist when I saw it last year.

I colored her with Copics and added little Stickles and Gloosy Accents to some details.
Then I cut her out with one Nellie Snellen die, and layered the image over papers from Papirdesign, Panduro and some kraft paper.

I made the sentiment on my computer and printed it out. The frame around the text were made with a StampingScrapping stamp and then cut with Spellbinders Fancy Tags.

The flower is made of fabric by using Docrafts Nesting Dies. I also used some of my old lace, gauze, twine, Paper Pen, pearl and one metal corner.
Oh, I almost forgotten the Martha Stewart border punch and the braided twine I also used.
Thanks for your visit. Take good care!
Hugs, Birgit
