My Imaginary Friend Says I Miss Imagination

söndag 24 februari 2019

Hi everyone!
Today I want to show a gift box that I decided to reuse by fixing it up a bit and give away to a man.
It already had a nice marbled surface so I concentrated on the image which is stamped with an old stamp, never used from my stash. From PaperArtsy Winter Wonderland 5 stamp set, I heat embossed in silver and sponged around with blue Distress inks. The sentiment is from InkyWings Snorkligt#2 stamp set. I used a piece of designer paper to create a background, added a Tim Holtz chitchat word and a couple of buttons. Finally I tied blue twine around the box.
As always thanks so much for stopping by!

Training Diary

måndag 7 januari 2019

Hello there!
Now here at the beginning of the year there is a lot of new energy to grab things again and I have promised to train a little bit more, so therefore I have picked up an old notebook and looked deep in my stash to fix it.
It was really fun to do something a little different and also use some old leftover material, I like that!
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!

Recycled Box

måndag 3 september 2018

Hello there!
I am popping in with a slightly different project today to share. In addition to create cards, I like to reuse boxes, to give them a second life as a beautiful gift for birthdays or other occasions gives me great satisfaction.
I used the Altenew Magnolias For Her stamp set and colored the flowers up with Distress Markers before I cut them out by hand. I arranged them and mount with foam tape for dimension. I also added some Glossy Accents to resemble dew. For the rest, I have used old papers and ribbon etc. from my stash.
I am playing along with: As You Like It - Favourite non-card project, The Sisterhood of Crafters - Bloomin´Flowers, Creates and Makes - Anything Goes, Dragonfly Dreams - Anything Goes and 613 Avenue Create - Anything Goes.

Training Log

onsdag 21 juni 2017

Hello there crafters!
Then it was time to fix a new training diary again. Even though I nowadays log all my workouts on an online diary, I think it is still easy to use a regular paper book as a complement. And I want to fix it up a bit of course. I hope I'll be a little more sweaty than the girl on this bike though.
There must not be too many things that stand out and get in the way, because it should be grabbed many times before it is fully written. That's why it's pretty flat and simple. I used old patterned papers and a digi image that I colored up with my Copics, I also added some Glossy Accents and Stickles even if it´s not visible on the photo.
As always thanks so much for stopping by!

Gift Wrapping

onsdag 21 december 2016

Hello there crafters!
Most of my Christmas cards are now on their way to their destinations, and I am now in the process of wrapping Christmas presents. I share one of them with you and also linking up with Simon Wednesday - "Gift It" challenge and Craft For The Craic - "Christmas : Anything But a Christmas Card" challenge.
I used a silvery wrapping paper that reflected the light, I hope you can overlook it. Besides that, I have used Tim Holtz Alterations "Festive Gent" die and some note Tissue Wrap, beautiful ribbon and some other stuff from my way to big stash.
Okay, that´s all from me today!

Vintage Recycled Box Project

fredag 7 oktober 2016

Hello there!
I have taken a couple of days' break from my card projects so today I'll share a box that I've recycled and given a whole new look.
I hope you see that it is to a man. I have used old K-Designs paper and things from my stash that I found while working with it.

The feathers is made with Spellbinders Shapeabilities dies and after some Distress ink sponging they were white heat embossed.
I love these thin metal flowers that can be bent just the way you want. They are by the way also reused after being decoration on a tea light.
Wishing all of you a happy day with lots of time to be creative!

Recycle More!

söndag 1 maj 2016

Hello there crafters!
Something a little different from me today, I have recycled a gift box and It always feels so good:)

For this project in shabby chic style, I used patterned papers from FabScraps and a sweet vintage image from Pion Design. I created a glossy crackled heart out of chipboard, acrylic paint, crackle paint and a thick layer clear embossing pouder, which I then bent and tied nature twine around. The K-design sentiment was first stamped in cherry red and then clear heat embossed. As you can see, I also added some more embellishments. Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!
Take care and have a great sunday!

Who Wants To Move In?

fredag 5 februari 2016

Hello crafters!
Today I have something different to show you, because I have been looking around in my stash and found materials to a birdhouse.

First, I painted all the parts to the house with "lemongrass" acrylic paint, then I stamped a pattern on them with a darker green color. For the roof, I used Stampendous Fran-tage embossing pouder Shabby Blue and flakes, then all the parts were glued together.

A butterfly in canvas were sprayed with some different sprays and adhered on the roof waiting for the birds to move in:) It´s fun to do something other than cards sometimes.
Thanks for visiting today!

Christmas Gift Wrapping

söndag 13 december 2015

Happy Sunday everyone!
As I have already told you, I think it´s great fun to wrap packages and today I want to show an old tin can that I have saved and now altred up for a Christmas gift. I like to reuse things, if possible.

The nice paper around the can is from Dixi Craft and have a wonderful red color. I found the Santa image in my stash and placed it on the cap. Then I tied a ribbon/lace and twine with a clean and simple tag around the upper part.
That´s all for today. I hope you have a great weekend!

Christmas Gift - Handle With Care

onsdag 2 december 2015

Hi crafty friends!
Today I´m sharing a bag with a Christmas gift that I have made. If it looks a bit blurry in the photo, it´s because I wrote some names on the tag before I realized that I had not taken any photos, so I tried to blur a little.

First I folded a Graphic 45 paper that I found in my stash to a bag. Then I followed up with some other things that I thought matched the paper and closed the bag with a hefty clothespin.

I love to wrap Christmas gifts and make boxes and bags, so you'll probably get to see some more her on my blog before Christmas.
That´s all from me today. Have a great week!

As usual I want alter it and this time I want it to have a clean and precise expression. Therefore, it has got natural colors, fast legs and a pounding heart ... and that is all that is needed.
Many thanks for stopping by - I hope you enjoyed my project!

Christmas Altered Zink Box

söndag 22 november 2015

Hello crafters!
Ok, today I have an old zinc box to show that I have altered for Christmas, I intend to give away a Christmas gift in it. As usual when I get an idea, I get such a rush to get started that I totally forget to take a "before" picture.

But here is "after" my makeover. I started by painting the lid with white gesso to get a good base for the decoupage image which I then mounted. Then I went loose in my stash and had fun with dies, metal / ordinary flowers, etc.

I think that´s all that needs to be said about this project...sorry for the slightly gray photos, it was a bit poorly with daylight when they were taken. I hope you have had a great weekend!
Hugs, Birgit

Gift Box

onsdag 13 maj 2015

Hi everyone!
For today I have created a sweet little gift box that I want to show you. It´s not big but it can hold a bar of chocolate, gift cards or anything else that is fairly flat.

I used papers from Maja Design the Coffee in the Arbor Paper Stack, I think they have such a lovely summer feeling. I thought that it´s possible to write a greeting on the back if you want, so I left it undecorated.

Then I cut out leaves with Memory Box Slender Leaves die and adhered them on the box along with some other stuff from my stash.

Okay that´s all for me...wishing you all a happy and creative day!

Pocket Tag

fredag 27 mars 2015

Hello everyone!
Today I have a fairly simple pocket tag to display. First I stamped some text as a background and covered it partially with white dots of embossing paste.

Then I painted a chipboard flower from Tando Creative with Distress inks and heated in some thick clear embossing powder so it looks like dew drops, love it:)

I also added a little stamped Heidi Swapp sentiment and a few things/die cuts from my stash.

I used some different old stamps and inks for the tag and finished of with a couple of Tims Chitchat words.
Thanks so much for your visit here on my blog today!

Case A DT Card

tisdag 24 mars 2015

Hey there everyone!
Today I´m sharing a very special card for me...it's my first shaker cards ever:) The one who got me to try it out is DT Sarah over at Less is More, here is her lovely card...

...and here´s mine.

Besides that there is a shaker card, I have focused on the theme of love. I started with the dry embossing that was made with one of the folders from Sizzix Scallop Heart Doily Set. Next I punched out the hole and added distress ink to the flowers. The hearts inside the plastic was made with a homemade stencil. And finally, the sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps Film Srip set.
And that´s it, friends. Thanks so much for stopping by today!

A Small Gift Box

lördag 21 mars 2015

Hi there!
I hope you are having a great weekend! Today I have a new project to share where I have recycled a box.

I did a background of metal tape, black acrylic color and Tim Holtz Alterations Texture Fades embossing folders.

It was a little tricky to make the frames but it went with the help of Tim Holtz Alterations Plaque & Postage die and another square die. I painted them with light green acrylic paint and black Distress Ink.

There is a lady cut out from a Reprint paper and some other old stuff and papers from my stash.

I attached a metal knob on each side of the box so it can be opened in both directions.

Okay, I hope you like my little project. Thanks so much for stopping by today!
