Great Gift Idea

lördag 30 juni 2012

Hello and happy Saturday!
This time I want to show you a tealight holder.
Perfect as a gift to take with me next time I visit some good friends.

I used Pink Bouquet paper from the Inkido Sunshine collection.
And the new "You are an Angel" stamp for the sentiment.

Along with the lovely colorful roses, I added some dark brown sheaf. I hope you see it even if the image is slightly blurred.
Around the hole where the tealight stands, I attached a lace.

This Tiffany Jewels made a perfect center for my bow.
That´s all from me today. I so much appreciate your visit - be back real soon!
Now it is almost time for the holidays and I hope you have time for a little crafting.
Hugs, Birgit

Another Fun Project

fredag 29 juni 2012

Hi all happy blogging friends!
Here is another card which I've been playing around with my Dylusions Ink Sprays.
It's really fun, I must say.

I also wanted to use my new Bottle Caps Images, but maybe not the way it was intended.
I took a couple of the images and hung them in the street lamp, and gave them wings. The wings are silvery metal so to get them white, I used the Snow Cap Alcohol Ink.

I used Decorative Lamp stamp from Kaisercraft and some variety old stamps from my stash to stamp the paper. I also used one Dylusions stencil and coloring with Distress Markers, black and white pencils.

Over the pictures I put down some epoxy dots to get a bit dimension.
Hope you see it in the picture.

All cards need some flowers right? These are made with a Memory Box die, and pearls.
Ribbon, Twine and one metal charm finished of this project.
Thanks for stopping by! I wish you all a nice summer weekend!
Hugs, Birgit

A Summer Day

onsdag 27 juni 2012

Good morning everyone! Here is a new card for you.

I saw the lovely stamp by Sarah Kay in my box, and boom, I had both stamped and colored it.
Then I had to find some papers that fit into my image. Luckily I found a couple from Reprints Collection As time goes by, who had just the right colors.

She is sitting and enjoying the summer scents among flowers, along with the butterflies.
I cut and embossed the image with Romantic Rectangles from Spellbinders.

I added some Flowers, Black Pearls, Silver Pearl Maker, Ribbons, Lace, Twine and a Flower Button.
The small butterflies was cut out from a Pion design sheet.

For the sentiment tag I used one Reprint stamp and sponged the edges.
One Floral Fluorishes die cut on the top right finished of my card.

I'm so glad you stopped by here today!
Have a wonderful week!
Hugs, Birgit

You & Me It Is We...

måndag 25 juni 2012

Happy Monday!
I hope you had a nice Midsummer holiday, with plenty of good food and dancing around the leafy maypole.
I´m here with a wedding card today. It's that time of year that many takes the opportunity to marry.
I wanted it to be simple but yet elegant.

I used white CS and scored it in a square pattern, then i added Pearl Maker at each corner.

To the lower part I used one paper from Bildmålarna - Dreams, and the sentiment stamp from Bildkällan. The sweet freebie birds were printed directly on the paper and the rings got a little Platinum Stickles on. After that I added a lovely pearl lace.
A black SC was adhered underneath.

On the inside I used one Inkido stamp (Love conquers all) and some Inkadinkado swirl stamps.
Some dies from Spellbinders was used for cutting and embossing.

There is not much more to say about this, I hope you like it, and the wedding couple too.
I wish them all the luck in the future.
As always thanks so much for stopping by!

In The Summer Time

onsdag 20 juni 2012

Hi blogging friends!
I think everyone has heard Mungo Jerry's summer song, and it makes me happy when I listen to it.
It has inspired me when I made this card. Then I used the colors in the latest challenge in CR84FN yellow, gray and neutral. It is not colors that I use every day so it was not easy, but I still thought they should fit well with this theme. I used the great sketch over at Sketchy Colors.

I have had this old car saved on my computer for a while, it has been waiting to get on a card.

White flowers and the lace under the one with eyes, was colord in with Distress Inks.

I used old papers and laser cuts from Panduro. The song text was found on a website and printed out.
That´s it for this one I think. Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hugs, Birgit

Why Take The Chance?

måndag 18 juni 2012

Hello everyone!
Back today to share something completely new, at least for me.
I've long been wanting to try the Art Journaling technique, but I want to incorporate it into my cards. Now I've finally bought a few sprays and stencils, so you have to remember that this is my first attempt with Art Journaling.

But what I love the bright colors!!!

The background is made with Dylusions ink sprays. Then I used some stencils, Gesso and Distress Inks. A bit of stamping and drawing with pencils.

The good cleaning fairy from Stampingbella were stamped onto watercolor paper and painted with Distress Markers. Then I cut her out and attached her on the background paper. Then I thought it would be good to use my new Glue n'seal on top and around the edges of the fairy, but it was the biggest mistake, because you can see how it went!

I added Pearl Maker in her hair, Star Dust Stickles on the feather duster and 3D Snow to her petticoat.
Behind it all, I used a piece of embroidery fabric.

I think she has spread a little of her cleaning magic here for it sparkles so:)
That´s all from me today, have a great week!
Hugs, Birgit.

Sweet Baby Card

lördag 16 juni 2012

Good morning friends!
I have a cute baby cards in soft pastels to show today.
And this is unique in fact, I usually just make baby cards if anyone is asking me specifically about getting one. I have problems with this ultimate disgusting cute unit.
But here's one just for you!

I used the fabulous new stamp from Inkido called "You're an angel". I also used the amazing backside of the paper Sunshine - Blue Roses, that first were embossed with Fleur De Lis Pattern from Spellbinders.

I cut out the little baby from one A4 Vintage Baby sheet, and added a layer Glossy Accents so that the image shows a little more.
I also used a lot of Spellbinders, Joy Crafts and Memory Box die cuts, Rhinestones and white Pearl Maker.

For the pin, I just took a few pearls from my stash and thread on under the heart.
Thanks for visiting.
I hope you have a great weekend, Be Sweet:)

Hard, Plastic Things

torsdag 14 juni 2012

Hello and welcome back to my blog!
Today I have a slightly different cards to display. Like so many others (I think anyway), I have things laying around in boxes that I do not really know what to do with, and they will be lying there.
Now I do not like throwing things that I once bought. So now I finally used the strange, hard plastic things from Heidi Grace Designs, they have now ended up on a card.

I wanted the text to be on the figures but since it is plastic, I did not know how to get it to adhere. In the end, I simply used embossing powder and heated in. The plastic was so thick that it survived the heat pretty well.

I tried to put some text paper behind some of the figures but I did not think it got so good.
In order to give it a bit more dimension and not so flat, I tried to get the flowers to stand up, by not pressing down the brads all the way down through the sheet.

I used Flowers of Spring paper from Bildmålarna.
The stamps are at least as old as the plastic stuff so I really do not know who produced them, and I have not used them for a long, long, long time.

So this is what I am sharing today, next time it will be something completely different, I promise, no plastic in any case:)
Hugs, Birgit

In The Summertime

tisdag 12 juni 2012

Hi there friends!
I have made an oblong postcard, or is it called brief card? with a lot of summer feeling.

I stamped Little Winged Friend - Together from Bildmålarna and colored it up with Copics.
Then I layered it over a piece of  paper, also from Bildmålarna.
I covered the edges of the image with small strips of white tissue paper that were glued, to get some texture.
Round the edges of the card I added Picket Fence Crackle paint.

Another bird stamp from Crafty Secrets was stamped on the paper, so that it looks like it's going to fly to its nest, and where it looks like a little happy mouse already have moved in. I happened to find it among all the old stuff in my inventory and I could not resist it.

Another old sticker in form of a pot were also added together with lace, leaf ribbon and flowers.
A sentiment, butterflies and a bird cage from Inkido was stamped on the inner card. On top I tied seam binding that I had colored in with Victorian Velvet Distress Ink., green twine and a butterfly metal charm.
That´s about it I think. As always thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

Blue And Yellow

söndag 10 juni 2012

Hello friends!
What you see is Sweden's national colors. You see, I got a little royalistic and inspired by Queen Elizabeth's jubilee, the on-going European Soccer Championship and our own little crown princess baptism the other week.
The flag flies, the sun is shining ... Go for Sweden!!!

I used the fantastic crown stamp from Norsk Stempelblad once again, and heat embossed it with gold, of course. Then I colored the blue with Distress Markers, added Stickles (Diamond, Platinum) and gold Rhinestones.

The blue Papers and the sentiment stamp are from Bildmålarna.

The image were cut with Large Labels and Fleur De Lis Rectangles from Spellbinders, as well as the Floral Flourishes swirls.

In the corners of the image I added some glittery brads. And the flag's one of those ordinary little which is usually used for pastries or small dishes.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a great weekend!

The Most Beautiful Things In Life...

fredag 8 juni 2012

...you can not see or touch. They come in your heart.
Hello friends!
Thanks so much for stopping by today to see my new card I made by using Sketchy Colors great sketch for this week.

Now I really wanted to make a "happier" card. So I took out the Sweet Nothing Collection papers from Kaiser Craft and started out.

First I stamped the sentiment and the branch with the bird houses from Bildmålarna and colored it with Copics, the edges were slightly Distress Ink sponged.
Next I used one Spellbinders Label Three to cut out a piece of blue Coredinations paper and sanded it. I placed it behind the first image.

A metal heart were first treated with Red Pepper Alcohol Ink and then I put on crackle paint, but then dropped some red paint off, and that was not so nice. So I put on Stickles and Glossy Accents in an attempt to save it, I think it worked, now it´s a glittery heart.

I added even more glitter by Rhinestones and yes, this green "thing" is nice, too.
I will not bore you with more details, but I must say I loved working with this colors.
Now i hope your weekend will be great for all of you!
Hugs, Birgit
