The Most Beautiful Things

onsdag 29 augusti 2012

Hello friends, today I can show you a card in green tones that I made a few months ago, but have not been shown here on the blog before.

"The most beautiful things in life you can not see or touch. They are found in your heart."
That´s the very thoughtful sentiment from Rox stamps, that I cut out with a Spellbinder die.
Since it's been a while since I made this card I do not remember exactly what paper I used, but I think it's from Inkido.

The heart is made of a paper ribbon that I twisted and shaped to a heart, and tied a ribbon round it. I also added two heart pins.

A border was punched for the bottom,  a green velvet ribbon and some rhinestones finished of this card.
Thank you for taking time to see my work today.
Hugs, Birgit

Back To School

måndag 27 augusti 2012

Hi, friends!
Today I have a card med school theme to share. When school starts you have to sharpen up life again and do what you must do. Therefore it's a pretty simple card without so much bling.

That perfect paper with the book is from Prima, Romantique Collection. I also like the pale colors, it's just the way it tends to be in the late summer before the leaves change color.

The girl is a freebie that I had on my computer, sorry I don´t remember from where I took it. But the backpack is a digi from Robyns Fetish and I colored them with Copics.
I wrote the sentiment by hand with a white pen on a piece of black cardstock.

I only added strings of twine and tied a bow of green paper ribbon, a button finished of.
That´s it! Hope you like my school girl.
Have a great week!
Hugs, Birgit

Recycling

lördag 25 augusti 2012

Hello and happy Saturday!
What can you make out of an old milk carton?

Well, you can make a box house.

I made the box with a detachable roof which can be snugly fitted back on the top of the house shaped box, so that you can fill it with candy or anything else that you want to give away.

Yummy, yummi...

Here is the backside and the gable of the house, I used a lot of flowers on the base.

I added punchcrafted butterflies, the door and windows were cut from corrugated cardboard.

On the front top of the roof I made a tag by stamping on a paper heart, and then sponged the edges.

And this is the backside...

I used papers and flowers from PaperCraftScandinaviaHope you also got some inspiration and enjoyed yet another recycling project.

Hi, and welcome back to my blog!
Today I want to share with you a card that I made with a sentiment stamp that I won by Jan Marie´s fluorishes for a couple of weeks ago on her blog.
I also enter the card in this week's challenge at Fluorishes Timeless Tuesday, and this week they want us to use insects on our cards. Hope you like it.

For my card I used this week´s Critter Sketch. I used papers from Bo Bunny and the dragonfly comes from Pinkpaislee the Butterfly Garden Collection. They were adhered with dimesionals.

The sentiment was cut and embossed with Spellbinders Label Four and one Floral Doily Motifs die was used for the die cuts at the topp and bottom of the sentiment.
I made my own pin of a pair of beads from my stash, a bow was tied with ribbons and a brad.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!
Hugs, Birgit

Office Time

måndag 20 augusti 2012

Hi there! Hope you are all had a terrific weekend!
Today I made a card inspired by the Our Creative Corner Challenge, where they want us to use office supplies and the color red.
I looked around and found staples, the hole puncher, paper clips, brads, lace, stamps, a small envelope, tape, and some old hole strengthener (I don´t know if they have another name),white correction tape and the coding stamp that I use to register.
And what became of it? Well, along with papers from 7gypsies and some Tom Holtz stamps it became like this ...

I heat embossed the car with white embossing pouder. Then I used a bit of correction tape under the car and then wrote the text by hand with a black pen.
I wanted this card to be for a man, and my husband's favorite color is red so this is perfect.
I got to show the inside too.

think there's a clock at any office, therefore, there is also on my card. Though it looks a little worn out of course :)

Thanks so much for popping in today! Have a nice school start week!
Hugs, Birgit

Take The Time To Do Nothing.

fredag 17 augusti 2012

Hello and welcome back to my blog!
I told you in my last post about the 3-D images that I found, and while I was on the go, I made another card with the sweet roses.

This time I took a few pages from an old book, cut them into three pieces and sponged the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
After I adhered them on a Nature Garden Collection paper from Prima, I stamped directly on the card with various stamps. I also added the images and the lovely lace from The Funkie Junkie´s Boutique.

For the swirl I first glued a blue paper on grungepaper and cut it out with one Spellbinders Floral Fluorishes die. After I had embossed it I painted the swirl with acrylic paint.
For the sentiment I first adhered tissue tape on a piece of blue paper and painted over it with Gesso.
After it dried I stamped with a Rox stamp and colored the flowers with Distress Markers and added a few dots with white Pearl Maker. The corners were painted with Picket Fence Crackle Paint. I hanged it up with twine and a brad.

The last was to attach a chain to the watch, and a bow made of seam binding.
Thanks so much for your visit today, have a nice weekend!
Hugs, Birgit
