Autumn Wreath

torsdag 4 oktober 2012

Hi there!
I´ts time for Part 2 of  AnonymeTimeglass, and this time it´s a Free Task. Make what you want.

Since I've been thinking about making a wreath to hang on the inside of the front door but not really got started, I thought that maybe I should take the opportunity now. It may be able to hang there almost up to Christmas. After I looked around on the web for ideas, I wanted to try to make a coffee filter wreath.

Since I had a bit of a hurry, I put the coffee filters after I dyed them into my convection oven so that they would dry faster. So it's a good tip.

I used Distress Ink refillers to dye the coffee filters with, but I could probably have taken a little more color because they faded a bit after they dried. To get a little more color on them I stamped them with a text stamp. After I glued all the flowers on the frame I thought it still needed more autumn color, so I sprayed it with more inks and glimmer mists.

For the red flowers I used kraft glassine and a die from X-cut. I colored it with Alcohol ink and heated in perfect pearl for a shimmery look, in the middle I added a button.

I stamped a Tim Holtz tree stamp on a die cut with a white paper behind, then i cut the tree out by hand and glued it back on place. After that I colored it with Copics and Distress ink, on top I added a layer Crackle Accents. Two leaves were also sprayed with ink and adhered together with a ribbon tied to a bow.

Well there was a lot of text today, thank you for reading this far, and for stopping by!
Have a great day!
Hugs, Birgit

Anonyme Timeglass - Del 1

tisdag 2 oktober 2012

Hi there, and welcome back sweet blogging friends!
Here is my first project to Part - 1 in Anonyme Timeglass...

...and I thought I may as well continue with the Christmas theme when I had the stuff out.
The challenge is to do a project which is not square or rectangular.
And it is also about the details: Use lace / ribbon - pearls - painting / mist.
Here is my take on it.

I created a circular side step card with the Ebony Smith stamp from The Emerald Fairie Garden and colored it with Copics. I added Glossy Accents and Star Dust Stickles to the wings and cut it out with Spellbinders dies. Then I drew a border with a black pen around the edge of the image and added some Paper Pen dots.

I used a piece of Basic Grey patterned paper for my card base and painted it round the edges with Picket Fence Crackle Paint.
A red ribbon was edhered and tied to a bow together with a pearl button. Parts of a rhinestone swirl was also added. The sentiments is from Inkido and it was stamped in StazOn Forest Green.

I sprayed a piece of lace with Snowy Pine Glimmer Mist and Frech Lemon Dylusions ink and attached it on my card along with a few gems. A couple of alder cones that I picked earlier this fall finished of my card.
Thanks so much for visiting! Have a wonderful day!
Hugs, Birgit

Gingerbread House

måndag 1 oktober 2012

Hello friends!
Yes, I know it's still fall but I can not help it, as soon as I get to see some Christmas paper or stamps, I would immediately use them.
So now it has become yet another Christmas card with the Inkido and Pion designs beautiful vintage paper.

For my easelcard I used an image from Robyns Fetish with a gingerbread house that I painted with Copics. The roof was painted with 3-D snow and around the windows I used white Paper pen. The windows got a layer crackle paint.

I cut out some images, distressed the edges and placed them behind the house. The snowflakes was punched out, got some Star Dust Stickles on and after drying, a rhinestone in the middle.

On the door I adhered a metal charm and a little red ribbon bow. A ribbon with a sentiment were adhered at the bottom. For the lower panel with the gingerbread hearts I used a couple of old stamps I found in my stash.
Have a wonderful week ahead! Thanks for stopping by!
Hugs, Birgit

Let´s Get Country

lördag 29 september 2012

Hi there! I hope you have a nice weekend!
Lisa from Our Creative Corner asked me a few weeks ago if I wanted to be this week's guest designer, and I said YES of course.
But I had to struggle with this week's challenge, I must admit.

This weeks theme is Let´s Get Country with a photo for inspiration and to use plaid, such as in ribbon or designer paper. In the end I decided for a country/western themed card.
I had a hard time finding plaid paper/ribbon, I had no at home and could not find anything in my local scrapbooking store. So in the end I had to take the most similar I had at home to my card.

For the shipboard stars I first heat embossed them with gold embossing pouder. Then I dabbed them with black archival ink, then I painted them with picket fence crackle paint to get the right look of rusty gold.

I think you already know the man in the picture, Johnny Cash that has touched many hearts with his life and his songs.
I hope you will play along too, check out what the talanted design team over at Our Creative Corner have to show you.
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!
Hugs, Birgit

Lots Of Layers

tisdag 25 september 2012

***I have two posts today. If you missed my post for Tuesday Throwdown, please click Here. Thank you.***
Welcome back to my second post as guest designer this mounth for Try It On Tuesday. It´s time for a new challenge and the theme this fortnight is "Lots of layers". Here is my take on it.
If you have not done it yet, drop in on this month's sponsor Smudgetastic Digis.

I have used a stamp from Crafty Individuals that I stamped and heat embossed in two copies, then I cut out the car from one of them and placed over the other with adhesive mounts to get a 3-D effect.
But before I addhered the car on top I had painted the bottom image with Distress Markers.

For the resist canvas, I used some Dylusions sprays, it got so lovely autumn colors I think.
I experimented a lot with the diecut before I was happy with it. I think I used alcohol ink, Distress ink,  Acrylic paint and I do not remember what more...:)

The paper are from Fabscraps, and the Tim Holtz sentiment was stamped directly on embroidery linen and then stitched on to the card.
Since I had thought this card would be to a man, I have not added so much more than all the layers, I think that's enough.

Now I hope you stop over at Try It On Tuesday to check out what the other designers have made.
Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
Hugs, Birgit
