Upcycled Box

fredag 27 april 2012

Hi everyone, glad to have you here again!
I thought the challenge at Frilly and Funkie sounded funny and thought about what I could do.
Then I got eyes on the old box containing notepaper that I found in a wardrobe a while ago and I for nostalgic reasons, could not bring myself to throw. I got it from my parents sometime in the 1970s.

Now I was finally ready to make something new from the old box, which actually yellowed a little with age. And here it is, back in a little different look.

I made the background paper myself by using the three alcohol inks i have:) and then stamped with two different stamps in Coffee and Black Archival ink.
Sweet ladies were cut out from a Pion Design paper.

The swirl is first white heat embossed, the layered with clear crackle paint and some distress ink, then again heat embossed this time with clear embossing pouder.

This is a genuine vintage lace/ribbon I once found at e-bay.
And this metall charm from ROX Stamps is layered over Memory Box Seville Buckle die cut.

I wanted to make use of the nice letter paper, too,
so I did a little tag with the leaves on.

Have a fabulous day!
Hugs, Birgit

Wow, am I ever DROOLING over this gorgeous piece of work! I just love EVERYTHING about it from the bottom layer all the way up to that wonderful music staff piece that you have distressed. Super color palette and of course I am in love with the Pion Designs paper! Very clever way to incorporate part of the old stationery too! So happy you joined in the re-purposing fun with us this time around at Frilly and Funkie!
