Lisa from Our Creative Corner asked me a few weeks ago if I wanted to be this week's guest designer, and I said YES of course.
But I had to struggle with this week's challenge, I must admit.
This weeks theme is Let´s Get Country with a photo for inspiration and to use plaid, such as in ribbon or designer paper. In the end I decided for a country/western themed card.
I had a hard time finding plaid paper/ribbon, I had no at home and could not find anything in my local scrapbooking store. So in the end I had to take the most similar I had at home to my card.
For the shipboard stars I first heat embossed them with gold embossing pouder. Then I dabbed them with black archival ink, then I painted them with picket fence crackle paint to get the right look of rusty gold.
I think you already know the man in the picture, Johnny Cash that has touched many hearts with his life and his songs.

The chipboard stars look amazing and the combinations of supplies you used certainly grasped the look you were going for. The layout is terrific!! You so totally ROCKED the country/western challenge this week at Our Creative Corner, Birgit! Your card hit all the requirements perfectly - the plaid is gorgeous and who better to represent country/western than Johnny Cash! It brought a huge smile to my face as soon as I saw it! Those pieces of braided rope and the little lasso - wow, what perfect embellishments. We loved having you as our guest designer this week - you really did us proud!
