Christmas Gift Box

måndag 16 december 2013

Hello friends!
I'm here with a new project today, I needed a box for a Christmas gift to my daughter's husband so I made this.

Here is how it looked before I started. Perfectly sized but of course it has a major fault as you can see ...

I wanted a white base so I covered it first with white gesso. Then I used stamps and dies from Tim Holtz alterations Holiday Joy set, some of the trees were embossed.

Then I applied some Stambendous Shabby White to the sky and heated it up. The edges of the metal decoration was also heat embossed with Aged Silver embossing pouder from Stampendous.

Then, using the Wendy Vecchi Studio 490 Dots&Stripes Borders stencil, I sponged some stripes in black at the top and bottom of my box. Next I added a  line of red plaid washi tape and red ribbon.

Over the reindeer, I used another stencil from Wendy Vecchi 3 Fluorishes in order to create additional effect. The reindeer was first embossed in gold but I thought it needed a little more glitz and glam so it got a cover with gold glitter that also were heated in.

The golden reindeer also got a wreath with a cute little red bow and it looks so proud out over it.
And that´s it. Thanks so much for visiting, I also have a post over at Hobbyhärvans blog today where I show how I made this card which has been published previously here on my blog.
Hugs, Birgit

WOW! I am totally stunned by the amazing transformation this little box went through! You did a great job of turning "trash to treasure." The elements you combined were so unique. I love the bling of the reindeer and the dimension of the wreath. I also love how some of the trees are more faded in the background than others. Great depth and a wonderful piece! Thank you so much for sharing this with us here at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog!

What a beautiful transformation! i love that aged embossing enamel and you used it beautifully on the surface. Lovely gift box and it won't matter what is inside as the box itself is a gift. Thanks for joining us at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.
